Hestra Wakayama Gloves

Stylish downhill

Wakayama is a retro-inspired ski glove for trendy skiers and snowboarders. Made with cowhide using outseams along the fingers, which provides a distinct look while optimizing freedom of motion and grip. A wool liner maintains warmth during cold winter days, which can easily be removed to dry. The opening around the wrist can be adjusted with a paracord, and on the wrist’s inside a neoprene cuff helps keep a comfortable fit. A wrist strap is also included to reduce the risk of dropping the glove while riding the lift. A warm, all-around ski glove that is just as well suited to pre-season runs as to hunting for the last late spring snow. And with a timeless design, it even fits in to your day-to-day routine.

Details:

  • Warm, durable gloves
  • Oil-imbued cowhide protects against weather + wind
  • Outward-facing seams provide better grip and feel
  • Removable liners made of wool terry / wool fleece
  • Convenient paracord wrist adjustment
  • Elastic at wrist
  • Neoprene cuff on inside wrist
  • Wrist straps / handcuffs included
  • Can be combined with other liners
  • Comes with Hestra Original Leather Balm
Care Instructions:

To allow leather to retain its softness + water repellent surface, you should treat your leather gloves with Hestra Original Leather Balm or Otter Wax Leather Salve regularly. It is advisable to moisten the leather slightly before you oil it. Always dry wet gloves slowly at room temperature. Your gloves will not only become softer and more supple, but they will last longer, too.

Hestra Leather Gloves

Martin Magnusson founded Hestra in Smaland, Sweden, in 1936. The first gloves were made for lumberjacks, demanding hardwearing gloves. Martin used cowhide + goat leather, which he reinforced with rivets + extra leather strips in the seams.

The tradition continues today in the hands of the third generation. Although Martin probably wouldn't recognize the gloves that are made today, it is still his basic concept that lives on. It is still all about top-quality gloves for active leisure + work. And even today, leather continues to be their favorite material.
